This lesson we had a straight run-through of the piece without stopping and through this we discovered some of the problems and hindrances of our performance that would lower the level of quality in our final performance and as a result of negatively impact our final grade. The main elements of this are memory of lines and memory of queues.These are both symptoms of an actor not fully understanding the structure of the piece. I feel this can happen even if the actor full understands his character and the message he intends to convey to the audience through the piece. I believe this can be remedied by an actor's own personal analyzation of the script and piece and then further analyzation of the piece with rest of the ensemble. However if the time to the final performance is short, I believe the actor can simply re-rehearse his lines and perhaps work with the director in order to know his queues. I believe this lesson not only inadvertently showed us the hindrances in our performance of the piece, but also in our acting skills such as line-learning.
